Elisa was born and raised in Puerto Rico amid mofongo, Mario, and musical theater. Shortly after moving to Miami, FL, she developed a passion for singing, songwriting, and acting (like an absolute dork) which she parlayed into her eventual pop-rock band, Crimson. Elisa’s personal experiences as a woman rock musician and her longstanding passion for video games, merged to guide her research on gender, representation, and music games—earning a Ph.D. in Comparative Sociology in 2018.Elisa took her findings to the video game industry, where she’s worn many hats from freelance writer to community manager to broadcasting and content producer to voice actress (Tyreen Calypso, Borderlands 3).
Nowadays, you (y'all) can find her in Texas writing music, creating content, watching bad movies and rolling for initiative as part of the FilmJoy YouTube channel (Deep Dive/Hot Quest), and teaching whenever and however she can.
