The Tiberian Sons

We are the heralds of symphonic cheese metal maximalism.

We build our music on a foundation of classic 1980s/1990s prog, and then we start adding more. Layer upon layer of the most bombastic orchestra you can think of, piled on top of mind-melting modern metal riffage, excessively sprinkled with all the choirs we could find because really, if the sky isn't singing in Latin, why even bother showing up? As for our visuals, they are so relentlessly packed with explosions that we are what Michael Bay's children ask him to check under their beds for.

We can't be bargained with. We can't be reasoned with. We do not feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And we absolutely will not stop, ever, until every VGM track in existence has been made to go as hard as the laws of physics will let us get away with.

We are the Tiberian Sons.

Master Boot Record

MASTER BOOT RECORD (aka MBR) is a project founded in 2016 by producer Victor Love (Vittorio D'amore) mixing together heavy metal and synthesized electronic music. The project as a live band started their live activity in 2018 including renowned live performing artists such as the guitar virtuoso and Ibanez endorser Edoardo Taddei at lead guitars and technical death metal drummer Giulio Galati.

MBR released 14 albums so far with multiple record labels and has been one of the most successful musicians on US digital distribution platform Bandcamp charting #1 in general charts several times. Because of that Bandcamp often featured the albums and made interviews directly with the artist.

Starting in 2016 releasing albums under the indie label Data Airlines has moved in 2018 to synthwave iconic label Blood Music to expand its audience to the electronic community. In 2019 MASTER BOOT RECORD settled with Metal Blade Records, the historic metal label based in Los Angeles to release the latest two albums Floppy Disk Overdrive (2020) and Personal Computer(2022) helping the project to gain increased popularity worldwide.

MBR has also produced the video game VirtuaVerse as well as its original soundtrack. VirtuaVerse was released in 2020 on all gaming platforms as well as Nintendo Switch, Xbox and Playstation.

The rapid growth of the project sparked an intense live activity that culminated in 2023 with over 42 shows including 2 full tours in Europe and UK as well as participation in renowned European festivals such as Resurrection Fest (Spain), Euroblast (Germany), Complexity fest (Netherlands), Resistanz Festival (UK), SWR Fest (Portugal), Frantic Fest (Italy)

The band is currently scheduled to perform at major european festival Brutal Assault (Czech Rep.) in summer 2024 and has recently joined major booking agencies Doomstar booking in Europe and Heavy Talent in North America to increase their live activity in the future.

FrivolousShara

FrivolousShara's music is pure poetry infused into Hip-Hop. Her love for many different genres and sounds keeps her own experimental and versatile. She is not afraid to open up and be herself on a track, and that enables her to resonate with a wide variety of people. Whether that expression be in the form of venting, storytelling, comedy, nerding out, or straight bars, Shara keeps her music clean, clever, intelligent, and introspective.

Super Soul Bros

The Super Soul Bros are a collective of San Jose musicians, whose fusion of funk and jazz meets the nostalgic melodies of classic video games. Formed in 2012 by keyboardist Robbie Benson, the Super Soul Bros have gained notoriety for their dynamic musicianship, high energy shows, and infectious grooves--comparable to jamming a ‘70s James Brown record into a Nintendo Entertainment System. Whether they’re taking requests on the fly, or the crowd’s busting into a full-on soul train, it’s always a party with the Super Soul Bros.

Bi Score

Bi Score is VGM's most annoying power couple! Consisting of Ian Cowell and Carrie Wood, these two are dedicated to showcasing only the absolute funkiest takes on video game tunes, ranging from all-time classics to cult fan favorites. They were named 2023's VGM Group of the Year by GameGrooves, who cited their “irreverent, playful style” as a welcome addition to the VGM community at large. They recently released matching Persona and Shin Megami Tensei EPs and are stoked to bring the music of this amazing franchise to MAGWest!
