jmr is Jeff Roberts: an electrical engineer by day, and live visualist, chiptune musician, and game audio archivist by night.
jmr’s visual performances combine live coding, real-time audio reactive elements, and prepared video. jmr has performed with a variety of chiptune and vgm artists at events such as MAGFest, VGM Con, and 8static Festival, creating unique visual displays for acts like Super Strikers, Goronsemble, Los Veros, Close to Good, Zaku, flow mein, and more.
Jeff is a founding member of the chiptune/vgm prog rock collective Marshall Art and has done audio engineering work for official soundtrack album releases for vgm classics such as Bomberman, Breath of Fire, Castlevania, Phantasy Star, and Gimmick!.
